When I had a bad cavity in a molar, my dentist informed me I would need a root canal to repair it. He then explained that a crown would be needed on the tooth after the root canal, because the tooth would not be strong enough to withstand the chewing it did without it. I told my dentist I did not want the crown, and he said that I would regret this decision later. Well, he was right. I had the root canal and while it held up for a couple of months, the filing eventually cracked. That meant I needed another root canal, filling, and crown on the same tooth. I created this blog to help others not have to learn the hard way like I did. If your dentist advises a crown after a root canal, then don't skip it. You will pay for it later.
